Why should you get to know ReturnedNative?
Having recently returned to the UK after many years abroad and having chosen, given my tropically thin skin, to settle in an area renowned for its sunny, warm and dry climate but without roots, family or friends in the locality, it's not surprising that I resort to the web to find friends.
You'd hopefully be encouraged by my relaxed and gentle manner and patient and easy-going nature (all no doubt mellowed and ripened by the sun) while stimulated by my vision, intellect and energy. Probably more than most, I'm coloured by contraries : driven yet laid-back: a people-person yet task-orientated when things have to be done; spiritual (Christian and Anglican yet uncomfortable with ritual, Evangelical yet uncomfortable with much of its culture and unwarranted certainties) yet sensual; practical with a garage-full of tools yet intellectual with an extensive library; and serious yet ever finding humour in situations. Many contraries, as I say, but one side of me is consistent and constant, my happy disposition and positive optimism.
After early morning bird-song, you'll find me in the garden or DIYing or walking the beach that lies across the meadow and after the sun has sunken below the yard-arm you'll find me, after a gin and tonic and an early supper, reading or writing with Classicfm playing its soothing melodies in the background. The time has come for someone to occupy the foreground.
