I have been on and off this site for a number of years and although satisfied with the site, was beginning to become very jaded with missing that deep connection with another. Just as I was about to bail and become a priest, there was a message sitting in my inbox that caused me to take one last look. At first I was elated by the warm and humorous message but at the same time deflated that she lived over 6000 miles away. We decided to just share a few messages, kind of to just have someone new to talk to in these uncertain times, with no expectation. Slowly, those messages lengthened and became a regular part of our lives. Then phone calls, followed by long video chats. If I were to say that the connections we had were unnervingly similar, to the point that I felt as if I had always known her, that would be an understatement. Over the months, I was falling for her, piece by beautiful piece, sometimes feeling like a fool in the early days, because of the distance, but then simply enjoying the journey. Then one day, I woke up with the intention to really give this a go. From that moment, I have never looked back. We are falling in love without physically meeting. I am not a foolish man and am generally a practical thinker but this chance connection has knocked me off my feet. I am grateful that she reached out to me and so grateful that at our age, we are creating the possibility of a future together. I breath in...she breaths out. Thats how it feels. So thank you for providing that opportunity. I really did not expect to be here now.
