Some reasons to get to know me:
I have my own teeth, I don't need a zimmer frame and can write without resorting to that mobile phone text-speak that blights some of our teenagers and older celebrities who should know better.
I left a long term relationship 8 years ago and, in the process, became a single dad. One of my sons is at university and the other is now old enough that I can leave him for a while without worrying about him burning the house down or hosting facebook parties (or both). I am therefore attempting to establish my own personal life again.
Although I work in IT and enjoy it, I am not a typical techie. I have a higher than average experience and love of of literature, music, history, science and culture in general, certainly more than my It colleagues. So much so that it gets lonely sometimes not having someone to discuss these things with.
My location says Cambridge but I work in Cambridgeshire and London and I also go to London frequently for outings with the progeny, so meeting someone in London is no problem at all for me and the commute is surprisingly quick.

To proceed further towards your first life-changing encounter with me, you must satisfy at least 3 of the following criteria:
- Be a lady in terms of gender and behaviour.
- Be well read and/or like the arts, preferably including classical music.
- Have some experience of "real life" or be a grounded person. For instance, from being a mother bringing up her children or experience of working in the private sector.
- Enjoy some kind of outdoor or physical pursuit such as walking, swimming or cycling.
- Not be a stick insect. I would say that ladies are far more attractive if they can be distinguished from a lamp-post.
- Know how to spell criteria (oops, that won't work now).
- Know what the singular of criteria is (hah, got you there).
- Have a slight contempt for, but still tolerate, patronising, smart-alec questionnaires like this.
