About him
Intelligent, articulate, professional, now retired. I'm content with my own company at times but would like to share a bit of a life, perhaps more, with someone.
I'm fairly easy going about most things in life but I can get serious about things I consider to be important. I'm not quick tempered. I'm conciliatory rather than confrontational. Others describe me as measured. I'm tactile and demonstrative. I'm honest and what you see is what you get. I don't take myself too seriously. I have a lot to offer for that someone special.
I'm practical more than arty.
I'm accommodating but there has to be two-way traffic.
My sense of humour can be a bit dry, sometimes a bit cryptic and irreverent! I tend to be amused by observational humour. I'm not a fan of political correctness (mild understatement!).
My kids are at various stages in making their way in the world. They are an important part of my life.
I have a love of the countryside and the outdoors. For the last few years I have been a Cotswold Voluntary Warden.
I particularly enjoy country walking, stimulating and intelligent (and sometimes silly) conversation. Occasional cooking can be relaxing and fun. All much better done with someone (particularly the conversation bit 😂)
One day I want to see the States; not Vegas or Disney, but the 'real' America (whatever that means!)
Since retirement I do voluntary work several days a week.

Life isn't all hearts and roses but warmth and affection is important. Would like to share the stories of the day with someone. There's no great "shopping list" but shared values are important. There has to be chemistry. Someone who makes me feel a bit special (but that works both ways). A shared love of the countryside and walking (and not too much shopping!) would be a bonus. And, the simpler things in life.
