About him
I was looking for someone a little alternative, reasonably attractive, reasonably fit and definitely cultured with an open mind (to culture that is - I value fidelity and am not looking for easy sex). I was hesitant about how much I gave away about myself to begin with - its about trust, but as I am leaving...
I don't know how people measured me - by what they had to go on I guess - so here's an update soon to be out of date ;-)
I allowed my match criteria to take in a chunk of the south as well as a spread of the north - because I spend about half my time on the South Coast where I live and work but I spend the other half of my time in Cumbria where I live (I consider it home now) and also work because I do a lot of my work in my own study - I had lived in Sussex for a very long time until my marriage ended. I am a keen walker and would want to share some of that, I also have very eclectic taste in music - some of it many people would find challenging. I love galleries as much as mountains - think Ruskin. I am highly educated I have several degrees including a PhD. however, that is no indicator of intelligence, I can be really dumb. I am a skilled cook but tend towards the rustic for my own enjoyment. I have no spiritual or religious beliefs but I do have a very Romantic take on the world - a harvest moon can leave me weak at the knees, although I am very realistic about cruelty people inflict on each other. My politics are Green but that is more ideological than a signal of practice - imagine my horror when I discovered these profiles are shared with the Telegraph dating site - if you are on here, you are there too!

Don't you just love little boxes - I can't get out of this menu unless I have 20 words in this box - well I have now.
Oh, while I am at it - I would prefer someone who is tactile, warm, generous of spirit and mind - I can happily spend an evening watching the flames of a log fire while the snow builds up on the windowsill, although I might want to get my ice axe out the following day and climb something a little demanding.
