About her
What lights up my day?
Sharing good times with my family and friends. Both are a source of joy for me. My family status is CGNGY (children grown no grandkids yet). I am close to my two beautiful daughters who are independent and pursuing their careers.
My work, running my own health business and a health charity, is challenging and fulfilling. My work/life balance needs a bit of help from someone who wants to go out to play.
How do I relax? Pottering in my small garden, walking by the river, cooking for friends, thinking about wines which complement food, spending weekends with friends in the country. Through my charity work I occasionally escape to the countryside and take autistic kids for a day with horses. There's no riding, just feeling the intuitive power of the horses. Horses are life-enhancers.
Music is another great life-enhancer. Classic FM, Radio 3, or an American jazz station are favourites for my daily music fix. Opera is a special interest. Glyndebourne has a special place in my heart and I have programmes going back to well before the new house was built. ENO has thought-provoking productions.
I enjoy the theatre - especially the Old Vic and Donmar Warehouse and local theatre in West London. Theatre and opera in cinemas is a great way to see thought-provoking productions.
Travel is part of my life. Paris was exciting when I went with friends. And then there is Italy; I have wonderful memories of visiting Tuscany, Umbria and Le Marche. I love exploring hill towns, visting vineyards and stopping for a doppio.
I would never go on holiday without books on the IPad but I also enjoy reading a proper book (preferably bought at Daunt's). It is such a pleasure to be reading a brilliant book at the moment.
I keep fit and appreciate that wellbeing is not delivered to us without any effort. I also know there are shadows. Life has given me my fair share of AFGOs. I suppose that is what builds resilience and determination to share adventures and appreciate loving and being loved.
