I am mild mannered and even tempered - but not boring . I'm fun-loving and active but not brash. I like to dress 'smart casual' but can dress up or down.
I enjoy visiting France and Italy and would dearly love to spend more time there. I lived for 5 years in Germany. I'm a retired professional with time to travel and the freedom to do as I please.
I am a lively and outgoing person with a young outlook and with a sometimes 'off the wall' sense of humour.
I tend to be quite busy but know how to relax.
Both my grown-up children are close by since I moved from the north to be here. They are still my best friends!
Eight years ago I took on a little patterpoo rescue dog.. It was love at first sight even though she's been described as ugly and scruffy!
I have an interesting and varied life-style which I enjoy very much.
I am looking for a professional and well-read gentleman who is entertaining and fun to be with and who would, like me, enjoy outings to the the theatre, concerts, opera or ballet and short city breaks and longer warm holidays.
I have a motorhome which I use a lot. We (the dog and I) spent all last October in France in it and Christmas and New Year in the south of England. More recently I returned to Cologne and made a nostalgic return to the north. I love the freedom of it all.

Since writing the above my little dog Millie died the day after Boxing Day last. Needless to say I was devastated and since I needed to do something I had never done with her a friend and I had a few days in Paris in February. I have since taken on another rescue, Monty, an arthritic 11 year old who makes me laugh but is still 'work in progress'!

He should be pretty much like me so that neither of us have to compromise too much! -as I'm not terribly good at it..
On the other hand, differences are also interesting and there's no need to be in each other's pockets!
Perhaps it would be fair to mention at this stage that a happy monogamous maybe long-term relationship might be lovely, but I am not interested in marriage or cohabitation!
