About her
I have been a widow for six years after 33 years of a happy marriage. For the past three years Charlie my rescue dog who is about 4 years old has been my most trusted and loveable companion. Originally from UK I have lived for many years in South Africa and have travelled extensively throughout the years. In 2003 my husband and I moved to the UK where we lived near Southampton. His sudden passing several years later left me in shock and three years ago I decided to return to Cape Town. I am ready for a new direction in my life. I have two sons living in London and regularly visit them.
My working life has been very varied and I now work part time from home giving me the freedom to pursue other passions. I love my art classes (not very good), walking/hiking, visiting historical places of interest, writing, gardening, basic DIY, cooking (certainly not Cordon Bleu but you won't starve) ... but will be at my happiest, scoffing down cream teas.
I like to think of myself as positive, practical and down to earth. I may be rather shy initially until I get to know you. I prefer socialising with small groups of people rather than large parties, just LOVE surprises and doing on-the-spur of the moment things. I am probably a bit too impulsive at times so really need someone to keep me in check ...

My ideal person must be kind, fun, considerate, patient, have good old-fashioned manners/values, and is a wizard with IT/computers ... I am clueless and always in panic mode when something goes wrong. He must also be a non-smoker, moderate/social drinker, enjoys travelling, be active and ideally an outdoorsy type person ... definitely not a couch potato. Most importantly he must love animals - especially dogs. I would love to meet/correspond with someone of similar interests.
