About him
I am mature but still physically and mentally fit. For relaxation I listen to classical music and jazz. I read, some novels but mostly history, biography and scientific books. I watch television sport, documentaries, news and films.
I am affectionate and tactile, I like to show my affection both in private and where appropriate in public, (holding hands is a must). I am happy to discuss my feelings and expect my partner to do the same. Lots of hugs and kisses in private.
I have various hobbies. I play the piano,(not very well), I play tennis and am well able to run around a tennis court, I go to the gym twice a week. I cycle when the weather is fine, mostly off road, I go regularly, with my son, to The Leeds Wall to practice climbing. I am experienced at DIY and I built the house in which I live.
My outlook on life is optimistic and I intend to continue doing what I have always done and to try anything new that appeals to me for as long as I am able. Life has been good and I hope it will continue to be.
I taught electronics and computers at Bradford University for 27 years then I took early retirement and went, (with my wife),to teach in The United Arab Emirates, (UAE), for 12 happy years. After the UAE we moved to Portugal and only returned to England when my wife became ill. I was happily married for 51 years and my wife died in 2012. I have a son who lives locally and a daughter in Australia, where I spent 3 months earlier last year. I intend to visit Portugal and Australia regularly in the future.

I am looking for a partner who is affectionate and able to show and receive affection. She should be optimistic in outlook and preferably physically active, ideally someone who plays tennis but this is not essential. Walking and cycling would be equally attractive. I assume that since the dating site is by run by classic FM that she will be interested in music.
I am involved in a number of activities but would be happy to try new activities in which my partner is involved and hopefully she would be prepared to become involved in some of my present activities.
