About her
I'm intelligent, or used to be! I like to listen to jazz, and intelligent pop, and classical music, of which my favourite composers are Mozart, Grieg, Debussy, and Chopin. I like watching intelligent documentaries and comedies on TV (using the word "intelligent" too much?), and I love swimming in the sea. I read a little philosophy and psychology; I like autobiographies, but don't read novels. I would travel, but don't have the money. I travelled in Europe as a child, and my favourite countries are Austria, great skiing and friendly people, and France. I like Italy and Norway, too. I would like to see Spain and India before I get too decrepit. I would also go back to the USA. I don't know how to upload photos, so please bear with me on that. I have naturally blonde wavy hair, longish, an aquiline nose and high cheekbones, though my face has filled out in recent years. I was always slim until I reached 50, when I gained a few pounds. I am fair-skinned, but can tan if I burn first. I am vegetarian with the addition of fish. I eat out most days in a beautiful restaurant by the sea, a short walk from my place. I used to ride horses, row boats, ski, and fence sabre. I have flown a small airplane a couple of times, and I would definitely do that again! I am basically optimistic. I am interested in international relations. As for films, I like rom-coms and non-violent sci-fi like the original of The Day The Earth Stood Still, The Man Who Fell To Earth, and 2001: A Space Odyssey. I also like spy films, as a relative was in international security. I go see my friend play jazz and very good pop songs he wrote, when I can. I have three cats. I like conversation, though living on my own I haven't had much conversation. I talk with my brother in Washington DC on the phone, and I have a couple of female friends. I have written a lot of poetry. I have made two CDs, and they have jazz elements.

My ideal match would write and play jazz and pop songs on piano and sing them. He might also play classical piano. I know that not many people will fit that, so don't give up if you don't. Someone with a loving and kind heart, who doesn't get tactile straightaway, though a hug is good. Someone who understands about my place being a bit messy, and wants to help me sort it out. Someone who will keep in touch by phone before and after we've met, while we're still deciding whose place we will live in, or about purchasing somewhere different, if we get that far. Well, that's the difficult things said! I would like someone who wants me to get to know his friends and family. We could go out together, and hopefully we'll like the same sorts of television programs. For example, I took a break to watch The Last Leg, and so got "timed out" and am having to re-write about myself and what you might be like! Perhaps we could go flying in a four-seat Cessna the instructor at my local airport uses. Maybe dance, though I don't know where. I used to live in London, so I miss museums. I like the theatre, too; the last play I saw was Speed the Plough at the Old Vic with Kevin Spacey and Jeff Goldblum in the lead roles. I like ballet, also. These are things I have not gone to see for some time, and perhaps you like them, too. I hope we can talk about all sorts of things.
