About him
In a nutshell I'm an ex-actor, ex-teacher, ex-smoker, ex-husband, and ex-convict.
I've eaten hors d'oeuvres with VIPs in the houses of parliament and shared bread with murderers at Her Majesty's Pleasure.
I've delivered conference papers to education specialists and food to the homeless.
I've won awards at short film festivals, published a book and been made redundant three times.
I have, in my time on this roller-coaster, experienced life at both ends of the spectrum (I'm sure theres's room for one more metaphor in here...). Consequently I have learnt to be laid-back and open-minded about most things and I try really, really hard not to judge people.
Despite all this excitement I am unfortunate enough to have spent most of my adult life being described as 'a very nice man' (apart from the divorce proceedings!). Most people who know me consider me intelligent, courteous and generous.
I did drama as my first degree for my sins, which was great fun but not really academically taxing, so I took a Masters a few years later. I had a long career working in education, first as a lecturer then as a senior manager. I have worked all over the country in such places as Liverpool, Bournemouth, Salisbury, Southwark.
I am now working in the charity/volunteer sector on a part-time basis which suits me very well for the time being, thank you very much.
I was determined to maintain my dignity during the divorce, which is just as well, because thats all I ended up with. But at least my family will be well looked after, and I wouldn't want it any other way.
I enjoy (in no particular order) walking, cycling, cinema, live performance, reading, creative writing, photography, film-making and composing music. I always have a project on the go, and a couple waiting in the wings.
