Active, practical and self-sufficient with wide ranging interests which include nature, history, antiquities, culture, and listening to music. As a younger man I rode horses, competing in show-jumping and eventing. I played cricket, became a sub-aqua diver, and a football referee (not simultaneously!). I enjoy novelty: exploring new places, meeting new people, and doing new things.
When attempts to keep control of my garden allow, current activities include making and fixing things (not always an entirely voluntary activity!), cars, diy, sewing, and the restoration of historic motor vehicles.
Thoughtful, inquisitive, understated and quiet, with initiative, energy and ideas, I have a good sense of humour. I can laugh at myself, (too frequently!). Sensitive, optimistic, and loyal to my friends, I appreciate both simple pleasures and the refined: good food, nice wine, a glorious sunset, the splendour of nature, and wide ranging conversation.
