About him
Married for 30 years and widowed 3 years ago. I've two daughters, both in their 30's and living in London. One married this summer - see pic - the other still looking!. I've spent the last couple of years travelling a lot, particularly skiing and boating. After my wife died I took up sailing and have now done a few flotillas in the Med, having really enjoyed the RYA day skipper course. I also have a motor cruiser moored on the Thames near near where I live, and it would be great to share that with someone who enjoyed boats and the outdoors. I also work as volunteer crew taking disabled people on cruises up the same river. We are in the middle of the ski season and I was lucky that there was lots of snow in the Dolomites for the family at Christmas. I've just come back from Les Arcs and hope I can find a companion for at leastr one more trip this year!
I love music, particularly choral, but not just classical. I have joined a couple of local choirs - presently rehearsing the Messiah for a concert in March. Spotify's been a great source of 60's and 70's Country and Jazz.
For all that, I enjoy being at home, gardening, going out for meals - but it's just so much better to share it with someone with similar interests and a similar desire to live life to the full - yes - that can involve evenings curled up on the couch with the TV and a bottle of Rioja!, but also planning another adventure together - Safari in South Africa, weekend at Chatsworth or walking the South Downs - winter sun in Cyprus or Tenerife - taking the boat up to Oxford - anything - as long as we enjoy doing it together!!
I hope most of my friends would call me generous and considerate - and honest, sometimes too honest. I think age has made me less opinionated than I was, but I still enjoy a good conversation - but it's often more fun if we don't agree on everything. I don't have any animals - but love walking other people's dogs - if you've got one, I'd be delighted to join you!

To start, a best friend and travelling companion. Someone with whom to share adventures, at home and abroad, but also to enjoy each others company in the kitchen, the garden and in front of the fire with a glass of wine.
Hopefully, we'd both get really excited planning and sharing an the drive down to the Alps or the South of France. Planning the Garden Route and a safari in South Africa, or just pottering away for the weekend somewhere in England. My IDEAL match would share my love of skiing - and join me sailing in the Meditteranean or further afield.
But for all the travelling, we spend a lot of the year at home. I'm not wedded to the garden, the kitchen, watching English cricket, a round of golf or going to cinema, theatre or a concert, but they're all pleasures which are much more fun when shared! That list is not exhaustive, and I'm always happy to learn something new - but I am a LOUSY dancer!
