About him
I don't generally ask friends that sort of question (who would ?) but I would hope that quiet, caring and dependable would be the reply.
Likes and dislikes, well I am quite tidy around the home but not OCD I hope,I do like punctuality and straight forward honesty, I love cats but haven't got one at present, I'm allergic to dogs so am not a doggie type of person. I enjoy reading (history) and going out on walks, beach and countryside and used to live on the coast in cornwall for a while, I enjoy dramas (particularly British crime) and documentaries (History and Science) on tv, I enjoy a large variety of classical, electronic and 70's/80's music, in terms of dislikes I confess I don't watch reality, soaps, game and talent shows or sports programs, I have not got into the habit of using modern social media systems such as facebook and twitter as I think they appear too intrusive.
Don't get me wrong I have a great interest in science and the fantastic strides it is bringing in medicine, transportation and building a future eco-friendly society but do think it is currently mis-used in communication.
My hobbies include listening to music, reading, walking and I would love to spend more time studying nature, music, paintings, history and science, we have a beautiful country and I would love to explore it more but as with my other interests would like to meet someone who shares these interests with whom to share these joys. I enjoy a trip to a country pub with friends. As for my outlook I'm very close to that of my late Dad who was with the RAF during the war, he told me that life just after the war was very tough, people were poor, resources were scarce and most things were still rationed but they were just glad to have survived and be alive to see the next dawn which many never got the chance to do, he felt that he had a duty to make the most of life and enjoy each day as it came, he called it the spirit of 46 and I still hold that belief dear to me.

I am looking to meet a lady with a similar outlook and interests in life to myself, she has to be confident about herself, compassionate and caring towards others, reliable truthfull and honest with me. I think a real deal breaker for me would be a lack of a sense of humour or fun, as I've gone through life I have found that the people who try to be serious all the time are often the most unhappy one's too.
