Now retired, I love to travel, be it to a city for galleries and theatre or to wander around Asia for a month. I enjoy reading, movies, listening to music and writing. I am retired from working in Higher Education though occasionally i do a bit of work.
Family is very important to me too.
I am a fairly quiet, independent type with a sense of humour and an open mind ... so politically, I am left wing and believe the world could be made better through compassion.
I'm very independent, which comes from living alone I guess ... but I recognize the need to have someone special, whether as friend or as something deeper. I'm also the romantic type!

I am looking for someone who is quiet but with a sense of humour [party animals are lovely people - but I'm never going to be one!]. Intelligence and compassion are important too so that conversation flows easily,as well as silence if we want it to. Romantic dinners, long walks, visits to galleries ... wandering together is my ideal.
