I'm relaxed and happy and have suddenly discovered that life really is too short. I have a terrific family and enjoy my own company, but would like a bit of someone else's - or maybe a lot. Depends!
Actually reached this page through Jack fm as thought most subscribers would enjoy their daft humour, but somehow it turned into Classic fm, so hopefully I'll meet someone not too superficial and with a sense of humour.
Life is definitely too precious to spend with someone else sweating the small stuff. I'd like to meet someone with a brain and a sense of fun; someone with interests beyond the boardroom table or the TV.
Don't like sci-fi, severe violence or chick flicks, but do like cinema if it's a good film. I can be found at the Opera once in a blue moon (blue moon coming up in April, actually), theatre perhaps a couple of times a year - sometimes amateur, luxuriating at a spa occasionally, browsing a bookshop as often as possible, walking my dogs in the beautiful countryside (any weather, but prefer dry), down in Sidmouth at my Dad's/brother's, or frequently battling to keep my unruly garden in check.
Like the odd bit of fine dining, but not mad keen. Enjoy Indian, the odd Chinese or Italian probably just as much. One of my best dates was at the Wimpy in Marlow - now that's a cheap date! Frankly, the company is more important. Don't really drink, but when I do, mine's half a glass of red or rose wine, a vodka and orange, rum and black, small brandy...
Three daughters play an enormous part in my life, now all in their 20's and living their own lives.
Have travelled a fair amount and to some amazing places, but not yearning for a life of airports. Love to visit my far flung, overseas friends, and occasionally do. Keen to take an extended tour of New Zealand, would like to see Sweden, the Channel Islands, the Seychelles and Palma island in the Canaries. Favourite places, other than Blighty, are Turkey, France and the Caribbean.

My ideal match has a talent for making light of sticky situations, so I won't be subject to Mr Moody because the car broke down. He wants someone to complement his life, not design or direct it. He has will-power and a mind of his own, is a bit bossy, but not overbearing. He likes time to himself, leaving me time to mine.
Having been on my own a while, I'm happy with my own company sometimes. However, I miss carnal delights, romantic walks, someone to accompany me to the cinema, joining other couples for dinner, and settling on the sofa for a good read/film/match.
