About him
Hello, my name is Alan, and I am a retired Design Engineer. I have worked in various places both in the UK and abroad, but have always lived in the Grantham area. I now live just outside Grantham in an old cottage which I have improved and modernised over the years. I am quite capable of looking after myself, but really would like to share my life with someone special.
I have many interests which have developed over the years, namely astronomy, which takes me to various locations around the world to view total eclipses, always a good excuse for another holiday, as well as gardening,photography, walking, shopping and Geneology.
I listen to all types of music from classical to rock,depends on the occasion.
I also like to go to antique fairs hoping to add to my Moorcroft collection, as well as WWII themed events.
I am a very honest and caring person, who is generous and tactile, and is quite content to crash out on the sofa with the wood burner blazing away watching a film or going for a good walk, which until recently was with my dog.
I am not a sport fanatic,except for F1 and super bikes, so don't spend too much time watching sports on the tv.
I would prefer a lady within a reasonable travelling distance of Grantham, as I think this is more convenient for those spontaneous moments when we just want to go out for the day shopping, spending time together or for a meal etc. I actually like shopping, and I am quite prepared to rummage through racks of clothes to help find that special outfit....
