Born in the NE, grew up by the sea then rural Yorkshire before studying Cello & Piano at Guildhall in London. Always loved cycling (yes, Lycra. sorry) & walks in the countryside - ideally with cakes and coffee. I have a huge love of music (Classical to Spyrogyra to Genesis etc). I'm a musician - singer (Tenor) & cellist in amateur orchestras in West London, Westminster & Ealing giving concerts every few weeks which I really enjoy! I’ve recently bought & moved to a cottage in a village near Bicester and expanded my horizons, although I still visit London several times a week. A young 60 something I’ve just retired from work as an audio engineer with BBC radio, I’ve travelled to many parts of the world & a variety of cultures, looking forward to returning and exploring properly. I've met many well known politicians and celebs over the years but what I take away is they are just people & I'm most in awe of the competence of those I worked with. Prefer clothing to be functional, I'm certainly not a fashion victim but I can scrub up smart. I have a short beard but happy to shave.
Not a fan of any spectator sport I'd rather go with someone special to a museum, garden or archeological site or walking/cycling by river/sea - and swim in it! I enjoy gardening and used to have an allotment. Interested intermittently in photography.
Ideal holiday would be to Picos mountains in N Spain for hill walking & cycling - followed by romantic slow food meals or a week of black runs/off piste in an Austrian ski resort. Scrabble!

I'm looking for a woman with the same philosophy as mine that I can love and care for and share good times - concerts, country walks/cycle rides, fun meals with friends, mountain and lake holidays, lazy sunday Radio 4 mornings cuddling...
I do want my match to love classical music, be intelligent, actively independent with her own interests and pursuits as well as sharing and taking an interest in some of mine.
