About him

I'm a happy, nerdy guy with progressive values and ridiculous coloured hair. People say I'm kind and tolerant; I like talking to people about pretty much anything I find interesting (which is vast swathes of the world, human existence, nerd culture, etc). I'm currently a student in Palaeontology, and looking to go into scientific academia as a career.
I enjoy reading/watching anything fantasy or sci-fi (favourites include Discworld, Doctor Who, the Old Kingdom series and Star Wars). I play a lot of board games, and enjoy wargaming (40k), tabletop RPGs (D&D for preference, but I'll play anything) and Video Games. I like to do outdoors-y things, mostly hiking, but never seem to find the time.
I do a million and one student societies, covering everything from Morris Dancing to Conservation, and like to be busy of an evening with something or someone.

I'm a very tactile person - I like a lot of hugging, no shortage of hand-holding/etc, and am prone to spontaneously showering the people I like in physical affection.
An ideal match for me is smart, able to hold intelligent conversation on whatever topic may come up, and not afraid to explore unusual areas of conversation. If you can, say, hold a 2-hour conversation with me the first time we meet on the subject of Free Will, you might be on for a winner. Nerds get extra double bonus points.
Must also be unafraid to be weird, do weird things, and hang out with weird people. I like people who are a little unusual - many of my best friends are hella queer, have coloured hair, have strange hobbies (see: Morris Dancing) or some combination of the above. If you feel like you'd fit in there, you'd probably be a good fit for me ^^
