In His Own Words

About him

I'm a scientist by profession, and I'm looking to meet a wonderful guy who can be my soulmate.

I'm a pretty quiet and shy type of guy, though confident, but I'm also passionate and driven about my work, which I love. I find it really hard to interact with people; hence, still looking for that elusive bf.

I don't care for the scene; I listen almost exclusively to orchestral music, either contemporary classical, or modern orchestral film scores; stuff like Jerry Goldsmith, John Williams, or James Horner, for example, but I like some other music too, jazz, sixties and seventies stuff.... Rather late in life, I'm also trying to learn the violin (see...a masochist too!) One day, one bloody day, I'm gonna play that fantastic little bit of Boccherini that appears at the very end of Master & Commander (not only one of my fave films, but a great series of books too).

I'm pretty simple really. I like basic things like reading, TV, cinema and walking in the country. I love animals, but not children. Neither am I interested in sport. I can't stand football, rugby, cricket or golf, though I quite like Wimbledon... or athletics. I love walking in the country; as long as I have a map and two legs I'll walk anywhere on Earth. Cities aren't really my thing, though Vienna is a lovely place, and San Francisco is a cool place to walk around. If I had to live anywhere though, it would be New Zealand.

I have a fairly dirty sense of humour, and love innuendo (not that I act camp mind you). If you listen to I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue, and you appreciate Samantha being forced to handle the testy calls of her new gentleman friend, then we may get on.

About his ideal match

Shallow bits first. I tend to go for younger guys (18-30), slim, smooth, and boyish is good. Red hair is a real bonus. Short is good too.
Ideally I guess someone like myself - quiet, bookish, romantic. Loves to cuddle. Loves animals. If you could be into film scores too - Horner, Goldsmith, Williams - then that would be, well, unbelievable.

I'm really looking to meet someone for a relationship as opposed to 'just' friends.

Of course, it's more important that we share common interests and thoughts about life - I'd like my partner to be my best friend. Someone quiet, who'd prefer to snuggle on the sofa than go out for a drink. It's REALLY important to me that we like the same kinds of music and have a similar sense of humour. The closer you are to the description above, the better we're likely to get on.
