About him
Trying to be as objective as I can, I would say I am quite a reserved, sensitive, caring person, with a good whimsical sense of humour and a lateral take on things.
I have a particular fondness for classical and choral music but am pretty broad-minded in my taste and have recently been warming to the more contemporary scene. I love the outdoors - walking, cycling, and generally taking in great scenery and landscapes, making the most of the lovely part of the country in which I live.
Gardening too I find good for the body and soul, and I have had fun creating something which I am pretty proud of (though quite a lot of trial and error!). A love of wine is also right up there. Italy, and all things Italian, holds a special place for me, with memories of many happy family holidays. Morocco and Oman are other parts of the world I am fond of ( I have passable Arabic).
Through quite a major refurbishment of my house, I have been drawn to interior design, and would like to develop this. Good furniture and antiques are also close to my heart, and I can't resist diving into antiques shops whenever I come across them. I take a keen interest in current affairs and enjoy lively conversation and debate on topical issues.
