About him
The quick headlines are working in education (late career change from print publishing), in London since my 20's; step father to 3 grown-ups; a country boy from North of Scotland; close old friends dispersed around the world, looking for someone to share my life with and who wants me in theirs.
Still in thrall to the passions of my youth which collect under a general "mod" banner. A good pair of shoes, well cut clothes, modern architecture and , primarily, music. Soul, jazz, English pop, lovers' rock, Americana - I could go on and I probably will. Tom Waits, Paul Weller, Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder, Amy W. But also new things via Radio 6 or Robert Elms .
Other more grown up everyday interests are cooking (which I do almost every day), eating out (see previous entry), cycling, drinking wine and a great US box set.
I can hit a tennis ball and golf ball without much obvious technique. I do however love skiing which I took up at 30 so can never get really good but the fresh air, the mountains, the thrill of it. Annual trip at least.
English graduate so have always and will always read the best fiction I can find. Also, love a crime novel if well written.
Unlikely to get on with Tories (but it has been known). Can tend toward cynical but, I hope, laced with some humour. Generally suspicious of lying on a crowded beach, over-organised fun, religion.

I am looking for someone positive about life and starting a new chapter (well could be a book but is, at least, a grammatically accurate sentence).
Shares some interests but brings their own take. Who has the precious ability to make the day better. Can connect on a sense of humour level. Can bring some depth to my hidden shallows. Is keen to go wild on a Tuesday night but happy to stay in on a Friday. To get enthusiastic about visiting a place on a whim and then just do it. Who can strike the balance between in/dependence. Who loves the city but needs escape routes. ...Is a complicated, big hearted, beautiful woman.
