About him
I was brought up by the sea and still live not far away in a tiny village surrounded by fields. I have a love and respect for the great outdoors and am a frequent fell wanderer enjoying the Lakes and Dales. I enjoy watching wildlife in its natural habitat both at home and in wild places across the world, I like good music, live theatre, musicals, ballet, etc. I have enjoyed dinghy sailing and scuba diving, and still like long walks. No children, no pets.
I’m capable in the kitchen, content with the ironing, my chocolate cake and sticky toffee pudding go down well with friends.
Though I've seen quite a lot of the world (lived in East Africa for a time, back in the '70s), there are still places I’d like to explore, preferably with like-minded company. Adventures, whether at home or abroad, are much more fun if they are shared. I’m happier in open spaces than in cities. I enjoy driving, other than walking it’s the only way out of my village, I'm not sure how a long range relationship would work, perhaps for the right person anything is possible?

If you are bright, articulate, honest and like to travel, that's good! Hopefully as happy on an adventure abroad or on a quiet hill top as you are in a local theatre watching a play, a ballet or a musical. If your travels favour a cruise ship or a five star hotel, I’m probably not for you!
If you are ready to grow old gracefully, that’s OK, but I’m not ready to do that just yet.
Hopefully you are someone who still wants to get the most out of whatever time we have and would be happy to travel both near and far with me - or just curl up on the couch at times!
