About him
What age gives us, if we are lucky (albeit painfully slowly) is the ability to be ourselves....and hope to be loved for that. The start of this assurance is the end of much pain. I do not envy youngsters their pain to come, nor regret my past insecurities. It's all part of the journey. The minute you stop making journeys, life is at an end. The minute you stop looking for The One with whom to share it, the end of a life could easily become interminably sad. I am an optimist and life has dealt me a good hand despite the usual setbacks. I am looking for someone to make me laugh, be happy and experience other interests. Looks, age, are all secondary. Good spoken English however is a must.
To cram a lifetime into the restricted space here is impossible for us all but here goes: I lived in France for 31 years. Family: my son, lives in Paris - a journalist - and my daughter in Bordeaux where I lived for 25 years. I have been back in England for fifteen years. I love my small garden which I created from scratch after have moved from East Sussex three years ago. I now live just north of Yeovil in a small village. The house was renovated after I moved in and I have built a ‘garden office’ from which I hope to be active for a few years yet.
I am not a sporty type but enjoy the odd day out at the races and other spectator sports. I used to play golf and cricket but that’s in the past. Cinema is another love but few of the Hollywood offerings. If I am on Classic FM Romance, unsurprisingly I enjoy most of the classics, opera etc.
I dabble in wine on a daily basis - French wine and port. I read a fair amount and am well versed in current affairs. Warning - if you are a vegetarian, or worse, a 'vegan' then we probably are condemned never to meet....Oh, and no picture = no interest at all...
