About her
Well, l think l am friendly, love animals especially my pet chickens, into 1980/90’s cars, music and hatchbacks. Nothing better than driving and listening to music.....usually loudly. Enjoy getting mucky in the garden and my Hot Bin. Always up to cycling to a pub ( used to be a London club cyclist so did a few time trials (very slowly! Well not always) a few tandem events, mountain biking (which l really loved) and touring in the Alps very crossly- ( “Isn’t this the top of the climb yet?!”) but l didn’t mind really, own more than one bike, really like my 1930’s ladies bike. This means you can wear old dresses and ride retro events and it doesn’t matter if you go slowly. Cycling has been very important to me since l was a student in Huddersfield which is where l really was thrown in at the deep end. Huddersfield up Holme Moss into Glossop to go to a pub which wasn’t there, and then all the way back again!! l can’t imagine not cycling. Environmentally concerned and try to do my bit. Always feed the hedgehogs and birds in my garden. I think I am easy going and try not to be too serious about things, finding the funny side of things keeps one going. I walk dogs with my friend down the road every night for a couple of hours, even in the dark in the winter, through woods and heathland trying to avoid the Snap Snap monster! Love vintage brooches, long earrings, rings, shoes and necklaces. Old buildings and wild landscapes too. Love the Isle of Arran. Don’t mind a bit of a bop. People who know me say I am quirky. Not a couch potato.
I worked and lived abroad for quite a few years e.g. in Finland, Corfu and Portugal. I also spent a year living on a kibbutz milking cows. I have a motorbike licence and have owned an Enfield and a Moto Guzzi. Would love a Vespa now. Also, l do have a thing about the Vulcan bomber and my idea of a good day out is sitting at the end of a runway. I hope this gives you a little bit of an insight into the kind of person l am. Not a city gal, like to visit but then it’s good to leave again.

It is so difficult to know who an ideal match is, how do you know until you meet someone? Anyway, possibly someone who enjoys being outside, possibly interested in mechanics who could pass on their knowledge to me! Has patience, a wicked sense of humour and definitely not too serious. If you cycle that would be great. But not essential. Enjoys their own space and knows that my space is important too. Cares about the environment and wildlife. Someone who doesn’t mind tramping over fields and hills in all kinds of weather. Really, I would just sometimes like someone to go to the seaside with and have a bag of chips. I can go to other places too, not just the seaside. Days out would be just great.
Actually, this all sounds very prescriptive, it would be lovely to find someone who could be a good friend first and foremost.
