About him
Will I be asking friends what they think of me - Gordon Bennett ... do I want you to know what those fiends make of me. If you seek a chat, chances are high you will leave with a quiet smile or chuckle - I tend to be easy-going and mischievous. I'm fine on my own, but would like to share things with someone with whom I meld well (thinkers call it emotional attachment - trust)
A little about me - had the usual boarding upbringing 5-18 followed by qualifications, training and career. Modesty, discretion and moderation are important (insofar as anyone may see). Lessons in manners from age 6 - should be OK.
Life and career has been a rich varied tapestry - the unexpected bits made things very different - making me belatedly the wiser. Life can be what you .... .. .. and - what happens to you in it - events that change your destiny. Is that right? Published a book (auto-bi) on events ( 'you couldn't make it up' stuff - good film - many say) - bruised me, but no visible scars.
I am never daunted nor do I do panic. My character and personality are for others to assess and judge on meeting - hopefully level-headed, broad-mined, considered, easygoing - can't lose my temper or flap - (meks me pretty boring?). If you share a secret - it is our secret. If I say I will do something - I do it.
I enjoy all the usuals from our wonderful Dales, to fine food, proper vino or good grub and R4 &PBS(!). Love history of world, and my kind of art and architecture. Uneducated in ballet, blues or jazz (whats rap!>?), but love opera and most music - to quietly get lost in a violin or cello concerto - peace!
I've got a good bucket list. Can I connect with someone to share bits at least with me ? .. .. it's not as easy as it was when we were younger - is it? We aren't as malleable as we were - so - and I'm a realist ... I'd like to try .... if I can find someone willing to try too.

Will we be people who want to see one another again, uncertain at first, but hopeful. Or will we be just someone we once met, or good friends. Try and see. We all have histories with bits gone wonky which is why we are here. Words here cannot tell the true story; nor do we disclose our true selves here in chats with strangers, do we; an encounter is requisite.
Who ? Well, her halitosis and anger outbursts are now well controlled - (smile please). She's unlikely to be a raving Guardianista - but plenty room for reasoned debate. She might be tall-ish, slim-ish, smart-ish and clever-ish but sans any prima donna qualities (and with her own lips despite the present vogue) - a welcoming personality; would need to be broadminded if taking me on (I have history - no .. not form!). A bit of feminine sensuality wouldn't go amiss - we know when its good n'estcepas - but its a two way thing. Someone I could cherish spoil and.. .is able to be up and away at a moments notice; spontaneity is good. You girls call it chemistry. And we boys have to accept we are no longer testosterone fuelled thirty somethings we like to think we once were - nor are we gods gift !
People come together when they want to - you can't force it - and if one wants to draw stumps, wish well - and we will always be friends. I'm willing to try in fairness all round and ... umm ...well .... again - it's why we are all here
