About him
I'm happy with my own company but I know I'm happier with a lady by my side.
I lost my lovely wife of 48 years in 2018. I've walked over 7,000 miles raising money for Sepsis research since her passing. I still walk regularly.
I enjoy my holidays. But I find the dreaded ss quite outrageous. I recently discovered a luxury holiday in Rhodes for £1,330 for a single passenger and £1,280 for two. Crazy.
I enjoy cruising, rivers and ocean. I'm also happy in a smart hotel in the sunshine. I returned from a two week cruise to the Med with P and O in June. I enjoyed it but it would have been so much better with someone to share meals, activities, shore visits etc. I did a European river cruise in August and looking at going to the Caribbean and New Orleans in January 2025.
My birth certificate says I am 78. I don't feel it. And as the wise man said age is just a number. I feel the same about distance. Again it's only miles.
I don't think I'll be lucky enough to meet someone who lives round the corner. But senior railcards and bus passes bring a host of places within reach. And there's always the car
I'm a retired newspaper editor living in Newport, Shropshire.
I have a very supportive family and a wide circle of friends. But no one with whom to share special moments and plan for the future.
I've just returned from a cruise to Australia. 47 days to get there. 19 hours to get back.
Most people find me interesting. I'm a good listener and despite creaking knees I am very active and feel much younger . I enjoy walking and am a member of two local jazz clubs
Cricket in the summer and jump racing in the winter. A chat with friends at the pub and a nice meal.

I have been retired for over 25 years and was really enjoying life until the death of my wife.
