About him
My friends (perhaps when threatened with the rack!) would probably describe me as easy-going, gregarious, well-informed, original, interesting, balanced and grounded. Thank you friends! I'd only add to their glowing testimony, such further attributes as educated, charming, witty, well-spoken, intelligent and soooo very modest!
Likes? People, animals (sometimes in that order, sometimes not!) good company, lively conversation, decent red wine and a well-earned pint at the end of a long walk, cycle ride, or trail run.
Dislikes? Bigots, zealots, raw celery, extremists, drug dealers, wasps, rats, intolerance and those who insist that only their opinion counts.
Hobbies/interests? Well, they do say that a chap needs a hobby and so I suppose my lovely Greyhound counts as one, in which I invest alot of interest and time. People fascinate me too but I can't claim to be a hobby sort of person, so you won't find me on draughty railway platforms with a clipboard, collecting postage stamps, or taking up commando macrame anytime soon!
In terms of activities though, I ski and ride well, trail run pretty averagely (but improving gradually) and these days, enjoy watching (rather than playing) Rugby. Oh yes, to add to the list, I'm very much yer man for a spot of high goals DIY.
Outlook on life? Simple. Like the man said "Life sure ain't no dress rehearsal" My take on this is: whatever it is, get out there and do it. Carpe diem!
About his ideal match
Qualities? I can distill this into just a few words. A good sense of humour. Laughter is the best therapy known and it's freely available without the need to queue up for a prescription.
What makes relationships work? Open-mindedness, a GSOH (see above) and a fair degree of tolerance. Lots of laughs!
Deal-breakers? Drug-taking, entrenched intolerance (bigotry etc - see above) excessive piercings and tattoos, smoking and simply not trying (carpe diem - see above)
Activities? Well, let's start by meeting up (why else are we all here?) having a natter and then go from there. If you're feeling energetic, I find that all the best walks seem to end at a nice (doggie-friendly) country pub, so there's a glass of something nice to look forward to as well.
