Professional man (PhD) working in the NHS: healthcare research. Available with or without beard! Father of 4 grown-up children aged 26 to 34yrs. Easy going and seldom get very cross about much. People say that I am amusing and good looking (or was once!). Practical: good at DIY. A bit of a softy and sentimental: inclined to weep in films.
I trained in zoology and microbiology and had a life-long interest in natural history and microscopy. So I love wildlife and the great outdoors. I appreciate beauty and the mathematical intricacy seen in many living things. Politically, I favour the Greens.
I like music of many kinds except Rap. I'm sure it is missing something if not just the initial C! I like a lot of classical music and also 70s prog rock (original Genesis, Yes, Peter Gabriel etc). I was in a rock & pops choir for charity and play guitar a bit. Big on painting & drawing in various media.
I admire a lot of scientists and artists. I love irreverent comedy from Leslie Nielsen, Monty Python, Father Ted and older stuff such as Laurel and Hardy. Also love radio comedy e.g. I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue. I'm not into violent films. If you've seen one car chase with machine guns blazing, you've seen them all really!
I have travelled a bit - mostly in Europe: would like to see more if I can. I have psoriatic syndrome, a genetic, inflammatory skin and arthritis problem which slows me down a little. If you want an all-action Milk Tray man, I can't help you much I'm afraid. I used to be picked last for team games at school - you know the sort! I used to do yoga and I am trying Tai-Chi or Qi Gong now. However, if you asked me to do a half marathon, I'd run a mile! Haha! I'm not convinced by many religions although I like Buddhism. Meditation is something I have done but not mastered.
I have a driving license but no longer have a car and I use buses and trains (and bike).

Simply stunning also. Ah! With money.… :) Horse riding and having own horse, dog or cat(s) are not essential but would be OK. Energetic with extensive walking in the fresh air and mountaineering or extreme ironing are also non-essential. Just be yourself and genuine; not a pseud! A non-smoker, who likes the natural world but doesn't want to exploit it. A woman who is attractive, elegant and sexy. A lady with an arty/crafty side: enjoys a wide variety of music - even somebody who can sing and/or play an instrument. I love to listen to live musicians. One who likes making mental and physical connection (i.e. is tactile and not standoffish). Likes terms of endearment and expressions of affection in public. A trust-worthy woman. I joined this database through Classic FM's Classic Romance, but found that it is actually an extensive database of not just classical music lovers but people who joined through Saga and Broadsheet newspapers among other sources. No riff-raff though! I've never seen so many tennis and golf-playing lady horse riders/lovers/owners in one place! A lot of ladies are looking for a 'soulmate' and/or a trustwothy man 'who is happy in his own skin', whatever that means! Not sure if I fit the bill?!
