People say I am an interesting person from an engineering background. I enjoy intelligent conversation but equally relish a good laugh. I am involved with charity work and enjoy writing, research and relaxation, not necessarily in that order. The natural world, saving our planet is now more important than ever and I am keen to recycle almost everything. Science and the arts appeal to me and music has always played an important part in my life, being an active performer.
Some say I am young for my age, in good health, fit, strong, active and exercise with walking, cycling and swimming. I have no interest in sport though listening to a cricket commentary can be a restful experience. I listen mostly to Radio 4 and Classic fM as I have no TV. Watching interesting programmes on Youtube when it suits me fills that gap. I am very practical and prefer tackling things myself rather than getting a bloke in. Restoring a vintage car has been an absorbing hobby.
Here in the country I live within walking distance of the coast and common in opposite directions. It is an AONB and feel very lucky with the location. It seems selfish to have these things and nobody to share it with. I would like to take a more leisurely approach to life with the right person, and with mobile phone turned OFF.
About his ideal match
Difficult to specify except that the chemistry would quickly confirm. My vision is a lady who is slim, intelligent, feminine, mentally stimulating, physically attractive, enjoys cooking different dishes and one who is not afraid to assist with practical things occasionally. You would not be judgmental and like me, accept each other for who we are. Accept that after a life lived thus far we are bound to have interests and commitments, other friends and family which we should learn to know and appreciate, especially if they observe this new friendship is a happy and lasting one. In return I would similarly enjoy helping you in the kitchen, preparing a meal together, followed by a candlelit supper, a cuddle and a feeling of togetherness. You could bring out the romance in me. Above all, someone I can trust, is honest, I can support when things go wrong, who can laugh at the funny things in life, and someone I can treat as a lady.
You could share a sunny drive in vintage car with hood down, a picnic by the lake, a stroll by the river, or hood up on a wet day, listening to the pitter patter of rain when feeling cosy inside. Further afield explore other parts of Britain and overseas when things improve and while I am familiar with London and all it has to offer, you may find the best times are far from the madding crowd.
