About her
I am an interesting person who has done and seen many things which have emerged gradually in my life. Have seen a lot in life, now have few desires eg to travel or study for a degree. Now have few worries. I love to learn new things and for some ridiculous reason love certificates from eg futurelearn. I enjoy travel but am limited in what I can do. I need someone to persuade me. No mountain climbing, walking or cycling. Swimming is ok. I am not interested in any other sport. I am a straightforward scientist who is 63, retired and now exploring subjects and activities that I have not had the time for. Plants are a big part of my life and I would like them to be more so. I love interesting intelligent conversation. I am spiritual and have my own take on God. I am a warm loving person who is shy to begin with. I don’t have any pets but have had so in the past. Money is not important in the way I look at life. I don’t drive and usually travel by train or coach or often by taxi as my mobility is limited due to multiple sclerosis. When I listen to the radio it is classic fm or the world service or radio 4. To relax I read a book. Often non-fiction, sometimes fiction. I am reading a book by Pat Barker at the moment. I think she is a very good writer. I sometimes meditate and have learnt a lot about Buddhism. I have a wide range of interests in music. Folk used to be my main one but now I’d say it Blues/Jazz. I love Joan Armatrading and have followed her career from when she began. I used to drink several times a week but have now stopped completely. I have replaced it with ginger beer, fizzy water with ice and lemon/lime or i love ice cream.
About her ideal match
I would like someone who wants intelligent conversation, outings to cinema, or theatre or quiet night in. It would be nice if they have a passion in life not necessarily related to my interests. I don’t want a sporty person. Someone who meditates, does yoga, tai chi sings, plays an instrument or is an artist would be more appropriate. I’d like someone with a gentle personality who knows themselves and is keen to share themselves. Being prepared to travel would be desirable as my daughter is based in Australia. I understand however that would be for the right person.
