About him
So here goes. I consider myself kind, caring and compassionate - bit of a liberal leftie, getting more radical as I get older (they say you go one way or the other!). I'm an Irish expat, so enjoy words (I've been told I have some ability in that regard).
Strangely, I hardly bother with alcohol - I have sober, German ancestry on my late father's side, probably his fault.... I'm not teetotal though. Literature and music really matter to me, I love live symphony music, particularly Russian 19th century romantic classics and especially Rachmaninov - the white grand piano he played on his 1930's UK tour is in Bath, at the Holbourne museum (it is a sad fact that I know this! )
I have far too many books, I admit to a love of reading, but never fear, I also enjoy the outdoors and I'm an active rambler in beautiful South Wales. My dog Penny takes me for walks in between time and I also enjoy cycling my Hamburg-built bike (my German family mostly live there).
I'm a nurse and really enjoy meeting my patients, their families and getting to hear their stories. It's the best bit of my job. I've a couple of years to go to retirement, so I'm planning an exciting future of exploration and adventure and would love to take time to develop a special friendship with someone who would like to get to know me better.
After all, I really am Mr. Darcy. Perhaps you might be my Lizzie Bennett (pride, prejudice and other personal qualities may well be involved and with any luck, it may be as much fun as one of Jane's novels!).
