About him
I was a secondary school English teacher for over 30 years including 7 as a Deputy Head and 10 as a Headmaster. All were in comprehensive schools. I took Honours and Master's degrees in Literary Studies before going into teaching

I believe I am outgoing, confident, amusing, a ready conversationalist with a keen interest in how others feel and think about our world. Long-standing and wide-ranging interests in arts, culture, history and politics. I fell in love with language, words, books and their power at a very young age. Purely by chance I found I enjoyed acting and over the last 30 odd years have appeared on the amateur stage in over 80 roles, from Ayckborne to Shakespeare. I have written pantos when requested to by different groups and enjoyed the theatre hugely until I decided my time was up a couple of years back. Leave 'em wanting more, as the adage goes.
I play guitar and mandolin (after a fashion) and have performed at local folk clubs and pubs either solo or with a little band we called The Jammy Dodgers. We even recorded an album at a friend's studio and wanted to call it 'Take the Biscuit' (can't think why). I am now learning the ukulele. Is that a deal-breaker?
A self-published author (mainly fiction on Amazon kindle) and an amateur singer-songwriter, I like to entertain and be entertained and hold on to joie de vivre as long as I can. And I'm looking for someone to share that spirit. Walk me to the corner, our steps will always rhyme.
