About her
I was bought up in south west London and educated at a state grammar school. My favourite subjects were French Language and Music and they are still high on my list.
My outlook is optimistic, enthusiastic and determined. I feel, and am told I look, younger than I am. I believe I’m caring, considerate, affectionate and a good listener. I enjoy reading, embroidery, light gardening, walking with friends/family, listening to music (some classical (not heavy), some other). In the last few years I have joined various groups, being table tennis, croquet and pétanque. I'm generally fit and exercise regularly.
My son is in Devon, my grandson in Somerset, and my step family further afield.
I'm fortunate to have many friends, but having been widowed for 14 years I miss the presence of a special man. I enjoy driving and value the independence it gives me. When travelling to friends/family in the south of the country it's usually by car.
Holidays I've had and particularly enjoyed, have been touring in France by car, the Lake District in Spring, a river cruise in Portugal and most recently the Isles of Scilly.
I take pleasure in, now and then, going to concerts with a friend. Occasionally I visit art galleries/
museums and craft exhibitions. During Spring / Summer I enjoy visiting local village Open Gardens and trips to garden centres anytime.
Although I prefer not to walk alone, I regularly do 2-3 miles at a time and I belong to a local walking group.
Given time I exercise my brain with quizzes, crosswords (more fun with a friend), Scrabble, Sudoko and Wordle.
I'm generally not a fan of dogs, apart from occasional special family ones.

I hope to meet someone within my age range and, for practical reasons, within reach geographically. Someone who has a way with words, he must be caring, kind and considerate. Mutual chemistry and a shared sense of humour are very important. I look forward to doing things together such as walking in fields, woods or on a beach, going to concerts, art galleries and exhibitions, meeting with friends/family, holidays in the UK or abroad (France in particular).
Ideally there would also be opportunities to pursue our own interests.
