Hi! I’m a firm believer that life is a journey and not always about the destination. Having people to join you on the journey, whether permanently or temporarily is, I believe, what makes it worthwhile. But someone special to share the ‘Wow! I can be the serious, supportive, encouraging companion when needed. But I also have the tendency to be the jokey, quirky friend who puts others at ease. I’m the one with the childlike enthusiasm once I’ve decided I want to try something out! Bugging my friends until one of them agrees to come with me, usually!
Friends would definitely describe me as loyal, trustworthy, always ready with a hug when needed. One advantage of not being a tiny little thing is I can give someone a proper hug!
I love spending time with friends and family but also value my own space - quite independent in that way. Don’t feel the need to be with others all of the time. I like a good book, a good film, a good walk with a view and maybe a good pub at the end with a cosy corner to sit in and to enjoy an ale or two, or a bottle of red with someone likeminded.
Music has always been a passion. Grew up with many musical influences thanks to parents wide and eclectic taste and encouraged at an early age to engage with music as a way of self expression. Subsequently I’ve learned and played instruments and been in various choirs; currently part of a choir locally. It provides much needed midweek ‘me’ time, away from pressures of work, where I’m challenged but always come away feeling uplifted - love how singing does that.
What else? I’m not really a sports fan but do like tennis and follow the Six Nations every year as well as the RWC each time. Fortunate to get to Twickenham on a regular basis - love the atmosphere there.

I’m looking for someone who’s interests overlap with mine, although they don’t have to be identical. For instance, I’m a rugby union fan but maybe you’re more into football. That’s ok, I won’t hold that against you! Someone who appreciates what both town and country have to offer; the theatre for example, or a walk along the beautiful Dorset coastline. Someone to have the deep and meaningful conversations with but also who appreciates the silly moments, as I do love to laugh. One of nature’s best medicines, I think.
Family is very important to me. I would like to meet someone who also values the importance of family and having roots.
