I am a father of 4 adult children. My lovely wife passed away in June 2018 after 37 wonderful years. I am looking for a companion with similar interests. I enjoy the outdoors, sport and classical music. I am a keen walker, shop & move around locally by cycle or bus in preference to the car, swim, golf and occasionally ski. I also sing in two choirs including my church choir. I am in good shape and active. I also enjoy reading, watching old films (Talking Pictures is a favourite channel) & spending time with my family & friends. I work part-time from home & like to keep busy. I miss the intimacy of a full loving supportive permanent relationship.
I also miss the warm feeling of when occasionally one's eyes meet with the other's & you are confident in the feel of the deep love coming through.
A partnership where there is no need to say anything gratuitous/by rote like "how are you" or are you "feeling better". A good partner will know how & when to support the other.
I am not keen on going overboard on the habitual exchanging of presents at Christmas or birthdays or anniversaries. If I buy something really special it is often something out-of-the-blue & not tied to any date.
From the above you will probably realise that I am looking for someone who is spontaneous, natural & confident & relaxed in her partner.
I am looking for a partner who will enjoy her own space & independence, activities & friends but who at the same time might become interested in some of my activities & friends. I happened to like all my late wife's friends & she liked all my friends. Not surprising as we liked the same sort of people. We had a natural balance of doing things separately, together but on our own, or together with friends. My wife suddenly & to my surprise took up golf. I became more & more interested in music.
I am used to someone who is forgiving & who leaves criticism to when it is really important rather than to minor day-to-day aberrations. Normally, the person who says or does something silly will realise almost immediately & so does not need someone to state the obvious. In other circumstances something might have to be said, feelings might be hurt, tempers lost but always sweet reconciliation & love when things calm down. A forgiving nature is essential.
So when an honest forthright conversation does need to be made each person understands where the other person is coming from & gives each other time to explain their position. One or two subjects may be taboo. Fair enough.
