Life is too short to waste on anything but classical music, especially the 3Bs, a C, D, E and F! So if you think that Einaudi is a good "composer", go browse another profile.
When the smalltalk ends, sometimes before it even begins, I like to ask the deeper, more difficult questions, and often make provocative statements just to get a reaction and generate a conversation. Oh, and if you think that we could do with a bit more global warming then read on...or message me. Just don't expect a scientific explanation on a first date! So if you like deep, and not so deep, discussion on Panspermia, the Pareto principle, the criminal ineptitude of our politicians, the benefits of fasting or practically any other topic under the sun (I was a teacher afterall!) then look no further.
Many of my students (I taught Physics) think I sound like Professor Snape: this reduced them to paroxysms of laughter.
Being semi-retired I work (teach) when I want to. Or did, until this Covid scam destroyed the education system. The rest of the time I make beer for friends and family as well as for my own satisfaction. I make simple furniture: bookcases, cupboards etc when needed. Oh, and the occasional shed. And play the piano, as well as tuning them, and mending/restoring them.
Holidays involve visiting interesting places rather than lying on a beach. And sailing when I can, which admittedly, has not been often lately. Although I managed a week sailing in the Orkneys at the end of July. And I'm planning to buy a yacht to sail on the Broads next year.
By the way, the beard is a lock down thing; I'm not attached to it, metaphorically speaking! But it is growing on me!

I am not really sure that there is such a thing as an ideal partner! This is not pure cynicism! The more you define what you're looking for, the more you exclude any other possibilities.
Up to a point of course. Obviously there are basic characteristics, likes and dislikes, that must be in common, but these are covered in the profiles we generate on this site.
But if you are fit, healthy, active and interested in life, then that is a good starting point. It would be better if you don't live too far from Norfolk - I am not looking for long-distance relationships.
The rest is detail that can be accommodated or not, depending on the sexual chemistry, or perhaps genetics, that a photo or profile generates.
And having said all that it would be nice to find a woman to romance; to wine and dine, to take to the cinema or a concert, go barn dancing (is that still a thing?), to walk along a beach or spend an afternoon in the sun with, or visit somewhere interesting.
