Although I've been separated for 3 years from my husband he still lives in our house but absolutely separate from me.( we respect each other's privacy& have completely separate living space and personal lives) We have agreed this is best financially for me and most importantly stabilising for our 15 &;16 year old until the divorce is final or kids go to Uni. whichever comes first! Please don't let this scare you off. This is almost 2020 and this works!
