About him
I am so interested in that world out there, and want to share life with a kindred spirit. I am reliable and loyal.
I lost my wife over 6 years ago. We were married for 51 years.
I now feel ready to make new friends, and possibly enter into a new relationship. I'll see how it goes.
After graduating and training, I worked for some years as a foreign language teacher, both in the UK and in West Africa. I then spent most of my working life as a careers officer. Later, after I had officially retired, I worked in North-East Lancashire with asylum seekers; some of this work was paid (funded by the Home Office), and involved helping those who obtained leave to remain in the UK to find their own accommodation and employment. My interests include crosswords and scrabble, music (mainly classical), ancestry research, travel (including cruises), keeping fit (gym 3 times weekly), and cricket (on TV). I am involved somewhat in politics, and hold left of centre views. I am an atheist, but regard Christian philosophy very highly, and do actually envy those who have faith.
I now live alone in an apartment in North Yorkshire.
I have a son and a daughter, who each have a daughter and a son, so grandchildren fill quite a few of my spare moments.
I can be light-hearted or serious, usually at appropriate times.
