About him
I juggle a lot of things - writing, making and recording music, exercise, thinking about and discussing what's happening here and in the world more widely. I am putting more time into my music now which has gone from Scottish flavoured jazz with Talisker to Siberian music with shamans. In the Bardo State Orchestra I also toured with Tibetan Buddhist monks. I have made over 30 albums, many of which attracted good reviews - but few have had big sales. My interest in spirit music started in Dundee, where my grannie played the piano and gave me encouragement - and it took me all the way to Tuva on the Mongolian border to play with local musicians and learn from shamans.
