In His Own Words
About him
I’ve written these profiles before but I’m not really sure how to approach it this time, given the circumstances. Did you know that ‘coronavirus’ is word of the year?
This time my aim is probably to reach out to any kindred spirits and simply connect in whatever way the prevailing lockdown tier allows.
I am a calm person, very independant, well travelled mostly through past work, and I have a broad outlook.
I’m not working at the moment, having stopped partly due to the challenges of trying to establish a new business at the start of the pandemic. I quite like the idea of not returning to work, though it’s possible some new venture will tempt me at some point. For now I’m happy to focus on my sport and leisure interests, mainly climbing, hiking and kayaking. Before lockdown I also enjoyed cinema, art galleries and theatre.
Oh, and I should add that things are further complicated not only by my planning to relocate to a different part of the country soon but because I haven’t decided exactly where to. I do have a shortlist though - I’m not completely aimless. It will be somewhere close to nature, mountains and water.
I’ve been planning this for a year or so and have deliberately steered clear of getting involved romantically so I can focus on getting my house ready to sell (there was a lot to do!).
Lately though I have realised just how much I miss having someone close, which could even be a great friend I share adventures with, as well as someone close.
