About him
Live life to love, laugh and be happy – a good ethic to follow especially during tough times. Walks with my two lovely Labs or bike rides in beautiful natural surroundings are so therapeutic and help to put life into perspective! I have many interests but animal and environmental conservation top the list. I’m a patron of an African wildlife charity and volunteer with a local wetland conservancy group. Other interests are in the arts, especially the Impressionist and Post Impressionist periods, architecture, various genres of music and current affairs. I’m creative and practical and like sketching, sculpting, photography and DIYing.
I keep in good physical and mental shape. Brain exercises include doing puzzles, plenty of reading and learning Norwegian. I have travelled extensively but many exciting places remain on my Travel Bucket List. I have fun driving my two classic cars (not at the same time!) around local country lanes and love UK adventures in my campervan. I enjoy train travel and would like to do more worldwide. I watch or attend sporting events particularly rugby, cricket and tennis. When I can, I enjoy kayaking.
Socially I prefer smaller gatherings rather than being engulfed in crowded noisy rooms! I have a valuable network of family, friends and neighbours and am pretty sure they would vouch I’m an honest, reliable, kind, supportive, and empathetic person who enjoys having fun and a good laugh. (references available if needed!) I try to spend enough time each day to relax, meditate and reflect.
I’m lucky always to have been fit and healthy. Being so fortunate I can confidently look forward to more intrepid travels and activities and to squeeze as much out of life as possible!
