About her
I am a retired teacher, so I talk a lot but am mostly well informed and erudite. I am passionate about wildlife, repairing the planet and being kind. I'm someone who loves to hold hands, hug and show my feelings in a rather 'ladylike' way. I never swear or shout or deliberately hurt someone. I am not materialistic but like to be comfortable. I am quite an independent person but I loved being loved. I hate cruelty, rough language and crass behaviour. I am not at all athletic but I enjoy being outdoors. I love beautiful music, wild flowers, the coast, wild places and wild animals. I can get really excited about a curled Autumn leaf or a beach pebble or a shell but have never wanted diamonds. I like t take short walks, sit with a glass of something, watching the sea, or the birds or the world going by. I like to paint and draw, to knit, to read and I like companionable silence. I'm interested in history and architecture, biographies, and other cultures and I like to know how things work. I'm not bilingual but quite fluent in French and have just started learning Italian. Long ago I used to love going dancing and cooking but my husband didn't dance and was very critical so I gave up both. My husband and I loved each other very much, and the last 30 years were much better than the first 25, but he wasn't an easy going man. So I'm hoping to find an easygoing one now.

I am hoping to find someone kind, gentle, appreciative, who enjoys little things like sharing a sunset as well as bigger things like eating out at a good restaurant. I am hoping that over time he will find things about me that he can love, and that he won't notice or be bothered by my faults, such as being rather slow and unhurried, expecting proper grammar and not being at all sporty. Think Miss Marples, in jeans and an Aran, or a suit and outrageous hat, add an indomitable twinkle and a silly pun, and you have me. If you could be truly happy with that, lots of other things are unimportant. Eventually, I want to be loved and appreciated. Eventually, I want to love and appreciate in return. I want to share beautiful, simple things. I want to laugh a lot with someone who is relaxed and happy. I want my new man and my grown up and very close family to enjoy each other too. I couldn't bear to feel used or manipulated. That would be the end.
