About him
I'm unusual, but in a nice way, with many interests, wide knowledge, love of travel, and I like exploring together. I have a PhD, but hate intellectual snobbery and bad manners; well, snobbery of any kind. I love the simpler things of life such as a country walk as much as travelling to (warm) far-flung places. Would love to share my love for classical music, theatre etc, with someone with similar interests, and/or likewise my love of languages. I'm relearning several languages lost through a busy life with work and family. Now retired there's time to do things you only longed for before. I love animals, but don't have any pets at the moment. Friends say I'm a great cook from living abroad.
I can be quirky, capricious, but also very deep-thinking. Friends say I have a lot of love to give, but so far...... The thing I miss most, despite a life full of interests and subtle pursuits, is the closeness and open honesty in a good relationship, even if it were at a good-friend level. I would love to share again the preciousness of being at one with somebody special in my life, and finding joy in even the simplest of things in life, like a tipple in front of a fire, or cuddled up on the sofa. What about you..? I don't foresee living with anyone, as I'd like us to have that good balance of independence and intimacy, but you never know. Someone unusual, perhaps a bit like me, who also loves cats, animals in general, Spain, exotic places, languages, exciting food, quiet pursuits etc, not necessarily all of them, but at least some. A lady who is sweet, kind, soft-spoken, and appreciates intimacy over carnal passion, although both would be ideal :-) Someone who is fully independent and dependable, as I believe in equality, and not needing to be with a man 24/7, thus giving each other space as well as closeness, someone who is quite complete in herself and wanting a soulmate or great friend to add to her life. Love of classical music would be a bonus, esecialy if you play a musical instrument, but it's the woman in you that's ultimately most important. So, what is your passion? :-)
