About him
I'm interested in people and have a typical Irish sense of humour, so of course I love words and music and enjoy nothing better than encountering a like-minded soul. I'm keen on history and place and would love to really explore these beautiful islands we both call home. I'm recovering my hobbies since retiring 2 weeks after Lockdown 1 and trying to develop new interests as best I can with all that's been going on in 2020. can you imagine that in a few years time, when we start boring our grandchildren about our lockdown experiences, they'll say 'what's Covid19'? I've really tried to stop buying and reading books, but heyho, that but will never change I guess - this is what comes of a mother who teaches me to read aged 4, then packs me off to school a year early (I started university at 17 as a result). I would welcome a playful shove in a new direction - scuba-dive training and parachuting spring to mind (!!). There has to be some new bits that are truly scary, to freshen us both up a bit, I'm open to suggestions. I do love my jigsaws (yes, I know, but when have I been able to indulge since the days of 5000 piece affairs on the kitchen table as a teenager). I'm conventionally unconventional, small 'c' conservative, but socialist by conviction.
If you pick me - pick me, you know it makes sense - I may well keep you amused, make you giggle and may promise to be well-behaved in public. Probably, most of the time. I have worked among women all my career, so am relatively house-trained and know she is usually right.
Did I mention that I quite like cycling and Rambling? I once played the piano, so am determined to start learning either or both of the violin and tenor saxaphone stashed neatly in the bedroom cupboard. Not simultaneously of course, as that would be exhausting, physically challenging and possibly dangerous.
