The arts are my thing - especially visual arts, literature, music and contemporary dance. My background is in art history and I work in an art gallery.
A typical day for me (work aside) might include: the first cuppa in bed, then some kind of creative project - writing fiction, painting, art research, or doing up a find from a flea market or charity shop. Radio 3, 4 or 6 or latest discoveries on Spotify in the background. Sitting in a nice independent pub or cafe with a good book, the papers, a cryptic crossword. Buying flowers and fresh food from lovely Norwich market. Cooking whilst sipping a glass of wine and listening to something jazzy/funky/chilled, then eating it with someone special. Chatting to friends and family. Reading, mostly literary fiction. Pottering in the garden. At the weekend: a culture binge in London. Dinner with friends. Kayaking in the Norfolk broads or walking, sketching, swimming on the coast.
Politically to the left, although more interested in small acts of positive change and community activism than party politics and heated debates. Great believer in the arts as a space for dealing with the complexities of this world and imagining a better one.

A partner in crime. Soulmate. Best friend. Playmate. Someone to talk with after a hard day (theirs or mine), and the first person I want to tell when something good or funny happens. Definitely a relationship based on good listening, and curiosity about each other. I don’t have a lot of caring responsibilities, so I would enjoy meeting someone either without children or with grown-up children who can get away for trips and adventures spontaneously. Happy to start light and see where it goes. If we make each other laugh that would be a great start.
