About him
Easygoing, intelligent, well read, and happy to talk about anything and everything. I believe in fairness and justice, and am happy to represent others less fortunate than me. Although notionally retired, I use some of my free time doing this, and also training younger professional colleagues. I also do academic research. Happily most of this can be done from anywhere, so I am now getting back into hill walking and trips abroad. I can adapt to most social situations, but these days I prefer cooking dinner for a small number of friends rather than a party. In the summer the conservatory and the garden double up as the dining-room!
About his ideal match
Someone who is honest and open and willing to talk through issues. We all need to compromise - did the people we fall in love with before tick every box? There are five key things for me. They are kindness to others (and to animals), honesty, intelligence, and a sense of humour - particularly the ability to laugh at yourself. The willingness and ability to go travelling is also important as there are lots of places still on my bucket list. Like all of us my plans have been affected by Covid-19 in recent years! However like many on these sites, I prefer you to have at least one fairly recent photo on display, preferably one that isn't covered in hats, sun glasses, or scarves! Those who don't have any at all risk being passed by - however you have justified this to yourself, there is rarely if ever going to be a good reason from a viewer's perspective.
There are quite a few women on here who have multiple active profiles. I suspect this is because they haven't worked out yet that this website hosts over 20 different front-ends, and we can see all the others anyway. Where those profiles contain contradictory information, it's a bit of a give-away...
