About him
My friends describe me as warm-hearted, thoughtful, loyal, freedom-giving, generous, and slightly shy. I feel I'm a good conversationalist and listener, a laid back, broad-minded man with a sense of humour. Although retired, I am still young at heart. I love being at home, but travel is also in future plans when we can all fly again. I love good pubs, beer, food, good company and conversation. Music has been a lifelong hobby and I play Irish, and Americana acoustic music on bass, guitar, mandolin etc. The band, when it can get together, plays live about once a month so if you enjoy live music too, then even better.
My only reservations are that I am not really a ‘pets’ person and although I walk, I don’t go trekking.

I'm open-minded about the type of person I might meet as you never know who you might just click with, I believe there are many people who could make you happy - it's just having the chance to meet one. My ideal match would be kind, warm and articulate, easy-going , broad-minded and relaxed. Unafraid to make conversation, but not afraid of silences. Non-smoker is essential. I’d like to meet someone who is warm affectionate, like-minded and complementary. In the longer term someone who will fill a significant gap in my life, as a good friend as well as a lifelong partner. I have always believed in walking through life as equals and making decisions together, being open with each other, and resolving problems quickly. I feel it’s important to ensure enough time is put aside for ‘us’ above other commitments. How would we start? Well, I guess simply by making contact, maybe a walk, and then a meal or drink together. What about location ? Presently Id like to look nearby in the Notts/derby/leicester/ Sheffield/Lincoln areas, and also East Yorkshire, with which I have strong connections. My photos are very recent.
