I am Brian, 73, 6’2”, slim, with blue eyes and sandy hair. I am a widower with – adult children and – grandchildren. I live in my own home in East Sussex.
Founder of a large Civil Engineering Company, now retired.
School in Kent, then out into the world to seek my fortune.
I read TheTimes and a range of biographies, history books and some thrillers.
I listen to Jazz, Blues, Classical, Vintage Pop & Rock and some Folk.
I enjoy visiting towns and cities of cultural interest in Europe – I find the architecture and art so inspiring. Good food and wines are a very important part of these adventures. When I’m on a relaxing sun holiday I like to swim, play some golf and watch the locals going about their business. Finding those great eateries is important here too, but I am happy to make do with beach snacks if it means missing the fun.
A warm and caring man, I’m practical, optimistic and possibly a bit sentimental at times. I have a lot of physical and mental energy– I’ve done a lot of fund raising for various charities over the years and I’m happy mixing concrete. I value humour for how it makes life that little bit lighter. Being a good listener, I’m aware of other people’s sensitivities. My family and friends, I need them in my life.
