About her
I have a glass half full attitude to life, whatever it throws at me. I think my friends would say I am funny, kind, loyal, generous and maybe a little quirky. I enjoy good, witty conversation and I love to laugh. I enjoy theatre, cinema, history, eating out, cooking (with varied results) and I love animals (I have two dogs). Not a gym bunny or a fitness fiend but I try to stay healthy. I would love to be retired, but that's not on the cards just yet due to something called 'a mortgage', so I am still working part time.
I have two grown up children, my son still lives at home, though I only really see him at mealtimes - oh, and I am what he calls a technosaur, so don't expect to see me on Twitter, Instagram etc - and a decent selfie would be a small miracle. Which is probably why my profile photo keep getting rejected!
My family are very important to me, not just my children and granddaughter but also my sisters and their families. Like many families, we have a particular sense of humour, lots of 'in' jokes and shared memories, and some quirky ways, but generally I like to think we are a welcoming and tolerant bunch, and can include myself in that description.
I am interested in history, with a particular interest in classical stuff (Greeks and Romans). I have visited a number of ancient sites both in UK and abroad, and can bore for England on the topic if given the chance (don't say you haven't been warned), but I like to think it is borne of a genuine passion and thirst for knowledge. Though obviously these days retention of information has become more of a challenge....

I would like to meet someone who is comfortable in their own skin without taking life entirely seriously. Someone I can laugh with, have deep and meaningful or off the wall conversations with, who shares some of my interests, happy to walk along a beach or in the woods with dogs, mooch around a museum or do a bit of sightseeing, exploring NT properties etc, theatre, cinema, restaurants or home cooking, a bit of travelling perhaps, or maybe even some sailing (which I haven't done for a while but would like to resurrect).
I don't expect someone to share exactly the same interests, far from it, but it is good to have something in common to do or talk about, at least at the beginnning.
Someone who will take time to get to know me, and does not make snap judgements. You will get the same from me!
